Is there any initial more exciting than X? I think not! But Xanthe is one of the few girl names that start with X that is both traditional and eminently usable. Not that many parents are actually using it — Xanthe was given to fewer than five baby girls in the US in 2024. On the other side of the pond, Xanthe is more familiar, ranking in England’s Top 1000.
Xanthe’s golden meaning would make it the perfect choice for a blonde baby girl. Fans of Greek mythology may appreciate it as well — Xanthe is the name of several characters, as well as a Homeric epithet of Demeter.
