Sholto
Scottish, "sower"
Rugged and earthy, but sophisticated too, Sholto is a Scottish name meaning “sower”, associating it with beginnings and growth. A literary choice, it appears in Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes novel The Sign of Four and in North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, while historically, it has been worn by Scottish gentry. Similar in sound to Shiloh and Otto, it is a rare choice with a stylish sound.
