Poe
English, "peacock"
Edgar Allan Poe, poet and most famously the author of The Raven, published his story The Cask of Amontillado in the periodical Godey’s Lady’s Book in November 1846. But parents attracted to this quirky bird name now are more likely to reference the Oscar Isaac character in the latest Star Wars movie than the literary surname-turned-first-name. While theoretically unisex, the name Poe was given to only five baby boys and no girls in the US last year, making this one of the best rare names right now.
