Late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien celebrates his birthday today, April 18, for which he will be turning sixty-one years old.
O’Brien started his career writing for comedy shows, including Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons, and he also served as a producer for the latter. However, he may be best known for his work as a late-night talk show host, a position which he held for 28 years.
His talk show, Conan, aired from 2010-2021, when O’Brien announced his retirement from late-night television.
Conan is an Irish name meaning “little wolf.” While it ranks in the top 50 in Northern Ireland, it has never cracked the top 1000 in the United States. In 2022, Conan was given to just 55 boys.
Other well-known bearers of the name include Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle, singer Conan Gray, and the hero of the fictional series Conan the Barbarian.
With its fun animal meaning and numerous namesakes, we think Conan could make a great alternative to other trendy Irish names like Aiden, Liam, and Ryan.
We love Conan as a modern update for 90s/00’s favorite Connor, a unique substitute for fast-rising Rowan and Ronan, or an appropriate alternative for parents who love the sounds of controversial Cohen.
