Kerensa:
Kerensa is a Cornish name — originating from the Cornwall region in England — with the most romantic meaning: Love.
The roots of Kerensa (also spelled Kerenza) come from the Cornish carenz, which itself stemmed from the Latin cārĭtās. Another lovely name from the same roots is the Welsh Carys or Cerys.
The melodic Kerensa would also make a lovely honor for a Karen — and one that avoids some of the negative associations and jokes surrounding the name Karen today.
As beautiful as the name is, Kerensa and Kerenza remain extremely rare in the US, and neither spelling of this Celtic name was given to 5 or more babies last year.
