Zarya
On November 20, 1998, the first ever module of the International Space Station was launched — called Zarya. While primarily used for storage today, Zarya was a revolutionary step in space exploration.
Zarya is (much like the Stations’ creators) of Russian origin. The name is a variation of Zorya — the personification of dawn and sunset in Slavic mythology. Zarya is a mythological name as well, belonging to the water priestess and protector of warriors.
Zarya would be a beautiful and striking choice in the English-speaking world, feeling in line with the evocative names Zara or Arya.
Some more gorgeous names with that zippy Z: Ziva, Zoya, Zella, Zora, Zosia, and Zola.
I have this name on my baby name list, didn’t expect this to be an actual name, is this name unique, I want to know what number this rank on the chart as I have never heard this name before and thought of it myself
My cats name is Zorya, after the constellation that is said to defend against the hell hounds. She's a sweety though and would probably hide if threatened.
