Bo
Vincent Edward “Bo” Jackson was born on November 30, 1962 in Alabama. Bo is the only professional athlete in history to be named an All-Star in two different sports — baseball and football.
Bo played in the NFL on the Raiders, as well as in the MLB on the Royals, White Sox, and Angels. In 1996, Bo was conducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Bo’s nickname has a funny story — his family described him as a “wild boar hog”, eventually shortened to “Bo”.
The name Bo packs a whole lot of punch in just two letters. It has ranked in the US since ‘77, but has been having a significant upswing in the last decade. Today Bo sits at #492, while the French Beau is at #89.
Either spelling has a cool-guy, cowboy swagger in the States. However, in the Netherlands Bo is actually a popular girl’s name.
If you love Bo but want a longer name on paper, there is Bowie, Boden, Boaz, Bodhi, and Bowen.
