Morven
Scottish, "the big gap"
Earthy, poetic, and unusual, Morven is a name that’s always struck me as a little witchy and magical. Rare outside its native Scotland — where it ranked in the Top 400 in a recent year — Morven appears in both the classic Scottish poetry of James Macpherson and as the name of two mountains, adding to that mystical and nature-connected feel.
Blending the magical qualities of Elowen and Arwen, with the sleek, no-frills style of Sloane and Mirren, Morven is one I’d love to see get more attention. It has the cool V sound of Maeve, that -en ending of Seren and the Scottish origins of Sholto — all options that I love!
