Libelula
Spanish, "dragonfly"
Admittedly, this one might be best left for a fictional character or reserved for the middle spot — but hear me out: the bright, bubbly Libelula has a lot going for it.
Lilting and tuneful, it has a sunny, joyful feel to it, reminiscent of other favorites like Tallulah, Jubilee, and Abilene. It has a distinctive sound, rather like Beulah, Anouk, and Twila do, however, it also comes with a whole range of familiar nicknames: Lula, Lulu, Libby, Libi, Belle, Blu, and Lilou.
Pronounced as lee-BEH-loo-la, it comes from the Spanish word for “dragonfly” (libélula) which ultimately derives from the Latin libella meaning “level” or “balanced” in reference to the insect’s wings.
A nature name with a summery vibe, it could feel like an update on Paloma, Alondra, and other Spanish, nature names.
