Isidore
Greek, "gift of Isis"
Mark my words: Isidore is the next Theodore. Besides sharing a suffix, Isidore and Theodore are both adorably nerdy old-fashioned boy names. And like Theodore, Isidore comes with a plethora of nicknames. There’s Izzy, of course, but how about Sid?
Isidore was a top Jewish boy name in the 1910s and ‘20s. Proof of the 100-Year Rule: I’ve spotted a couple of trendsetting toddlers sporting the name at High Holidays services. Isidore was also quite common in Ancient Greece, and is one of our favorite Ancient Civilizations Names from our 2026 baby name trends.
