Hart
English, "stag"
Happy Valentine’s Day, Berries! It’s my favorite holiday, and coincidentally (well, maybe not), one of my favorite names is absolutely perfect for a baby born on February 14. Sure, Hart is unrelated to the word “heart” (it actually means “stag”), but everyone connects the two automatically.
Despite a love for sharp, preppy surnames like Brooks, Tate, and Lane, America has yet to embrace Hart. That could be good news for you, if you’re looking for a classic boy name that’s extremely rare — Hart was only given to 42 baby boys in the US at last count.
Of course, you could always save Hart for a middle name, which we love for babies born in February, and every other time of year.
Nameberry of the Day features our favorite names – but we want to showcase your favorites too! Send us the name you love most to grace@nameberry.com and don’t forget to include the origin, the meaning, a paragraph on why you love it, plus your own name, for the chance to see it featured here in the future.

Hart’s been on my list for a boy for a minute. I just love it.
Happy Valentines Day! 🥰
