Cherith
Hebrew, "winter stream"
An offbeat Biblical place name, Cherith may be pronounced with either a soft CH-sound (like in the name Charles) or a harder K sound (like in Kerry). Reminiscent of Cheryl, Cherry, Edith, and Cerise, it has the evocative nature meaning “winter stream” which gives it a cozy but snowy feel.
While I do love the wintery feel of the name, one of my favorite things about Cherith is that it’s a word adjacent choice: it reminds me of the word cherish, which adds something comforting and lovely to the name.
